How to request a correction
Email office@sportsnetnews.in or use our contact page. Please include the article URL, the statement you believe is inaccurate, your supporting evidence and your relationship to the issue. Requests that are specific and documented can be reviewed more quickly.
Our review process
- The editorial team checks the published article, source material and relevant records.
- We may contact the requester, author, original source or affected party for clarification.
- We distinguish factual errors from disagreements over analysis, emphasis or opinion.
- We aim to acknowledge credible requests promptly; complex matters may require additional verification.
What happens when an error is confirmed
Minor spelling, grammar or formatting errors may be corrected without a note when they do not alter meaning. A material factual correction will normally be made in the article with a clear correction or update note explaining what changed. Headlines, captions, metadata and social posts may also be corrected when necessary.
Updates, clarifications and takedown requests
Developing stories may be updated as new verified information becomes available. A clarification may be added when the original wording was accurate but could reasonably be misunderstood. We do not remove accurate public-interest reporting merely because it is inconvenient. Takedown, de-indexing and anonymity requests are assessed case by case, considering accuracy, public interest, safety, privacy and applicable law.
Appeals
If you believe a correction request was not handled fairly, reply with the evidence you want the editor to reconsider. The request will be reviewed separately where practical. Our wider standards are described in the Editorial Policy.
